Pool Vacuums - Don't Wait Until Summer!

Pool vacuums may not be something you think about all that often, but with summer just around the corner, they have all of a sudden become fashionably hot items. For many people who own swimming though, warm weather signifies time to enjoy their watery sanctuary. Unfortunately for some, it also means a lot of work in bringing their swimming pool back to and up to snuff.

Once upon a time, the only option was to do it the hard way: nets on long poles, and a lot of bending, splashing, and dredging. Today however there is a wide range of pool vacuums available, in all price ranges, made for all types and sizes of in-ground and above-ground swimming pools.

For those who want to make the investment, particularly those with a large in-ground pool, an automatic programmable or robotic vacuum might be the way to go. While the costs may be somewhat higher, the far greater ease of use, labor savings, and ability to program it to work off hours, is well worth the investment.

Some of these devices will require you to "mop" your swimming pool in a sense, while you are guiding it along the bottom and surface . While these are the least expensive to purchase, they also tend to require the most work. A self-guided or robotic model will do that for you,  usually using a suction action to "crawl" along the surfaces of the pool.

A self-guided or automatic robotic pool vacuum will of course be somewhat more expensive, but if you can swing it, you'll consider the cost to be more than offset by the freedom and peace of mind as it will allow you to spend much more time bathing, splashing about, or swimming than getting all sweaty just to get your pool ready for fun.

The worst-case scenario a homeowner faces is when the weather is just right, the time is available, perhaps guests, kids, even grandchildren are over, but the swimming pool is unusable because it hasn't been vacuumed and looks dirty. That isn't exactly the time first begin having to vacuum your pool.

On the other hand, there is nothing more rewarding than walking outside on a beautiful, warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, BBQ ready to fire up, drinks on the deck, and the option of diving right into your cool, crystal-clear swimming pool. Equally rewarding, and in some sense even more important, is to be able to climb back out, towell your self down, grab that drink or attend to the barbecue, and not have to worry about cleaning your pool before heading in.

Pool vacuums are an essential part of the package. Waiting to purchase, replace, or upgrade once spring time is in full bloom, virtually ensures that you will pay top dollar, and possibly have to scramble around looking or wait on shipping to order the pool vacuum that you should have already had.
